Adult tap: for adults who want to move!
Have you always wanted to tap dance, but you think it’s too late to start? No more excuses! This is the class you’ve been waiting for!
ADULT TAP is an open level tap class designed for adult students looking to enjoy an engaging rhythmic workout in a fun and positive environment! With an emphasis on tap dancing this class moves at a moderate pace exploring weight shift, dancing in time, and articulating the feet to energizing tunes geared to get you moving! Particular attention will be placed on economization of energy and efficiency of movement to include: balance, relaxation, and coordination. We will explore fundamental areas of tap such as: weight shift (i.e. step, hop, leap, ball change, and skip), combined with basic steps (i.e. shuffle, slap and flap) and explore how combining the two leads to larger ideas like time steps, progressions and choreography. Exercise the mind-body connection between musical patterns and movement phrasing, while simultaneously training your ears as we discover the imperative connection between tap dancing and music.
This class meets you where you are. Prior experience is welcome, but not required. Please wear tap shoes and comfortable clothing for moving with ankle visibility.

*Adult class purchases are valid for 365 days after purchase. Registration is transferrable between classes, but may only be used by one dancer.
